Ultimate Fudge Brownies

We think Monday needs a little extra pick me up, and with Christmas just around the corner what could be a better pick me up than some holiday baking. Now I’m sure you’ve all had your fair share of brownies, but I wanted to share the easiest, gooey, 8 ingredient brownies. I’m serious these are the best, my recipe is labeled “The best brownie’s ever”, so I can pick them apart from all the other recipes.

I picked up this recipe while I was in France, weird I know. But I’ve kept it since and now it’s all I use. While clearly this is not a French recipe, I first saw it when I was there which made it close to my heart.

I was glad to find out this only takes one bowl to make, the easier the clean up, the better it tastes. But what I really mean is that the easier the clean up the quicker I can actually eat them. I like to add in pecan, walnuts or chocolate chunks, or since its the holiday season add some red and greens candies or sprinkles for a festive touch! If your feeling more adventurous swirl in caramel, peanut butter or melted white chocolate. These will last up to a week in a sealed container, which means you can make them in advance and who doesn’t love that, good luck getting them to last a week.

In a large glass mixing bowl melt the butter, than add the sugar and vanilla and whisk to combine. Add in the eggs one at a time, mix again to combine. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt into the wet ingredients. You can also sift into a separate bowl and than combine the wet and dry from there, but why dirty a second bowl.Mix until the batter is smooth, pour into a greased 9″x5″ pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool before slicing, keep in an airtight container for up to a week.
