You and your furry friends will love these homemade dog treats for many reasons!

  • 4 simple ingredients
  • Customizable, make these any shape or size desired
  • Shelf stable, keep in an airtight container for up to 4 weeks
  • Cost friendly, I made 5 dozen bite-sized treats for less than $2

Grocery List:

  • Pumpkin puree
  • Peanut butter, natural and xylitol free
  • Whole wheat flour
  • Eggs

Line on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes until hard

Instructions for homemade pumpkin dog treats:

In a large mixing bowl combine pumpkin puree, peanut butter, and eggs. Whisk to combine. Add in the whole wheat flour and combine until a shaggy dough forms. If the dough is to dry add in a tablespoon or two of water.

Transfer out onto a clean surface dusted with whole wheat flour, using your hands knead slightly and roll out to about 1/2″ thick. Use a cookie cutter to cut fun shapes*.

Line a couple baking sheets with parchment paper and arrange the dog treats evenly. Bake at 350 degrees F for 12-15 minutes, until hard. Baking time will vary on size and shape*.

Allow to cool completely and transfer to an airtight container for up to 4 weeks!

Notes

*The safest peanut butter option for dogs is 100% peanut butter made with only peanuts. If you can’t find that check that your peanut butter doesn’t contain xylitol which is toxic to dogs.

*Adjust baking time on size and shape of treats, I made smaller bite-sized treats and baked for 12-15 minutes. If you have larger treats try starting at 15 and adding time as needed.

Cut into any size or shape desired, adjust yield and baking time as needed
