This homemade natural peanut butter recipe is easy, delicious, and free from the preservatives of store-bought nut butters! Great on toast, in oatmeal, smoothies, or even in dressings and marinades. Homemade peanut butter stores great and does not have the oil separation of store-bought butters. No added oils or added sugars – peanuts blend together perfectly into a creamy flavorful butter. All you need is raw peanuts and salt or honey if desired.
Homemade peanut butter is truly the best peanut butter!
How long does fresh ground peanut butter last and how do I store it?
This homemade peanut butter will last about a month in an airtight container. Keep in the fridge or at room temperature. Storing in the fridge will help preserve the peanut butter longer, the mixture will be thicker if keeping in the fridge. Homemade peanut butter will not have the oil separation like store-bought peanut butter does.
I love using these Weck Jars for storing my homemade nut butters! Glass mason jars are perfect also!
Tools I used for this easy recipe:
- Rubber Spatula – a must for scrapping peanut butter out of the food processor.
- USA Pan Half Sheet Pan – my go-to sheet pans, these are truly non-stick and clean up nicely.
- Ninja Food Processor – my favorite affordable, yet powerful food processor, perfect for this peanut butter
Variations for making your own peanut butter:
