Starbucks Cinnamon Dolce Syrup

Making coffee syrups at home is so simple and much cheaper than buyer syrups from the store. Plus flavors can be customized and you can control the quality of ingredients used. Homemade syrups last for up to a month in the fridge. I like to store my syrup in these squeeze bottles, they are basic but great for storing homemade sauces, condiments, and syrups!

Ingredient List & Substitutions

This syrup recipe is made with simple ingredients, many you might already have on hand in your fridge or pantry. If there is a substitution for an ingredient, you’ll find it below:

portioned ingredients for the cinnamon dolce syruop
  • Granulated white sugar: plain granulated white sugar works best, or substitute cane sugar or coconut sugar.
  • Brown sugar: make sure to pack your brown sugar. Light or dark brown sugar works. Honey or agave could be substituted for the additional sugar but might change the flavor
  • Pure vanilla extract: use homemade or store-bought vanilla extract.
  • Cinnamon: I prefer cinnamon sticks as they infuse nicely as the syrup simmers. Ground cinnamon will work just as fine also. Or use a cinnamon extract.

This dolce syrup has a rich cinnamon, vanilla flavor with hints of caramel from the warm brown sugar.

Can you put coffee syrup in hot coffee?

Absolutely! Simply brew your morning coffee as usual and stir in a spoonful of dolce syrup in substitute of coffee creamer.

How long does homemade cinnamon dolce syrup last?

Stored in an airtight container in the fridge, it stays fresh for up to four weeks.

Can I make this cinnamon dolce syrup sugar-free?

Yes! Swap the brown sugar for a sugar-free sweetener like monk fruit, erythritol, or allulose. Just note that the texture may be slightly thinner, follow ratios for sugar-free sweeteners as it is not a 1:1 swap.

Yes! It dissolves easily in iced coffee, cold brew, or espresso. I love it with a double shot of espresso, oat milk, and ice!
