Simple air fryer pita chips are they perfect addition to any dip or appetizer. White or whole wheat pitas tossed in a simple seasoning blend and air fried until crispy. These remind me exactly of restaurant style fried pita chips, without the mess of oil! Serve with spinach artichoke dip, fresh salsa, layered dips, or along side grain bowls. The perfect air fryer recipe for game days!

  • Store-bought pita bread – White or whole wheat pita bread rounds (could substitute naan bread as well, sometimes you can find a bag of pita bread available at bakeries)
  • Olive oil (could substitute sunflower oil or vegetable oil)
  • Kosher salt
  • Fresh cracked black pepper
  • Seasonings like garlic powder, garlic salt, onion powder, paprika, chili powder, red pepper flakes, or cayenne pepper

Variations:

  • Toss the pitas in cinnamon sugar for a sweet chip
  • Toss in Italian seasoning
  • Cut into strips instead of pita wedges
  • Toss warm pita chips in shredded parmesan cheese
  • Toss in a homemade spice blend

Instructions for the pita chip recipe :

  • In a large bowl combine the pita chips, olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss to combine.
  • Preheat your air fryer using the “air fry” setting, at 400 degrees F for 4-5 minutes. Spray the basket with cooking spray, once preheated add in the seasoned pita triangles. Arrange in a single layer. Cook for 5-6 minutes until crispy, flipping halfway through. Enjoy immediately or store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.

  • Preheat your air fryer using the "air fry" setting, at 400 degrees F for 4-5 minutes. Spray the basket with cooking spray, once preheated add in the seasoned pitas. Cook for 5-6 minutes until crispy, flipping halfway through. Enjoy immediately.
