I make my taco meat using homemade taco seasoning, you could also substitute shredded chicken
Grocery Store List & Substitutions:
- Lean ground beef (could substitute ground turkey, ground chicken, or shredded chicken)
- Taco seasoning (chili powder, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, etc.)
- Nacho cheese Doritos (could substitute traditional tortilla chips or you favorite flavor of Doritos)
- Shredded cheddar cheese (could substitute a Mexican cheese blend or Monterey jack)
- Shredded pepper jack cheese
- Favorite nacho toppings, such as sliced avocado, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, green onions, or cilantro


Variations & serving ideas:
- Substitute cool ranch Doritos
- Serve as a nacho bar, use mini sheet pans
- Add black beans or refried beans
- Use rotisserie chicken as a quick substitute
- Top with fajita style red bell pepper or green bell pepper
- Crumble queso fresco on top

Instructions for the simple nachos recipe:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F, line a large sheet pan with parchment paper.
- In a Dutch oven or large skillet brown the ground beef, drain excess fat if needed. Season with taco seasoning and set aside.
- Lay an even layer of Doritos on the prepared sheet pan, top evenly with taco meat and shredded cheese.
- Bake at 400 for 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melty. Top with toppings of choice – cubed avocado, chopped cilantro, green onion, etc. Enjoy immediately!
*serve as is on the lined sheet pan or transfer to a large serving platter

- 10 oz. Bag Nacho Cheese Doritos
- 2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cup Shredded pepper jack cheese
- Avocado, cilantro, green onion, sour cream, and limes for topping as desired
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F, line a large sheet pan with parchment paper.
- In a Dutch oven brown the ground beef, drain excess fat if needed. Season with taco seasoning and set aside.
- Lay Doritos on the prepared sheet pan in an even layer, top evenly with taco meat and shredded cheese.
