The Red Robin burger has sliced pepper jack cheese, chipotle mayo, sliced tomato, and lettuce. This burger has all of that on a perfectly toasted brioche bun. Grill the turkey patty on a preheated grill or inside on a grill pan!

Ingredients Used & Substitutions:

  • Ground turkey: substitute ground beef or ground chicken as needed. Spicy Italian sausage can also be mixed in for more flavor. You can use fresh or frozen ground turkey.
  • Garlic cloves: jarred minced garlic can be substituted if needed. Add as much garlic as desired.
  • Kosher salt: I prefer real mineral salt or Himalayan salt, any salt can be used.
  • Black pepper: fresh cracked black pepper if the best in this recipe, ground pepper can be used as well.
  • Garlic powder: add as much garlic powder as desired.
  • Paprika: adds a nice touch of flavor, substitute smoked paprika or Hungarian paprika.
  • Chili powder: substitute cayenne pepper or chipotle powder.
  • Brioche buns: I prefer a light brioche bun, toasted until golden brown. Substitute sesame seeds buns, potato rolls, or any kind of hamburger bun.
  • Pepper jack cheese: pepper jack cheese adds a little heat and extra flavor. You can substitute cheddar cheese, provolone cheese, Colby jack cheese, American cheese, Swiss cheese, or mozzarella cheese.
  • Tomato: a thick sliced beefsteak tomato is my favorite on this sandwich but you can substitute heirloom tomatoes, Roma tomatoes, or on the vine tomatoes.
  • Lettuce: I prefer a crisp iceberg lettuce or butter lettuce, washed and chilled. Substitute romaine, arugula, or bib lettuce.
  • Chipotle aioli: use store-bought aioli or make your own with mayonnaise and chipotle peppers in adobo. Works well on the sandwich and to dip the sandwich in! Substitute garlic aioli.

1: Firstly combine ground turkey with seasonings and mix well to combine. I like to use gloves for this part.

2: Secondly scoop into 6 even portions.

3: Thirdly, form into hamburger patties using your hands, try to get them all the same shape and thickness so they cook evenly.

4 : Lastly, grill or pan fry in a grill pan or medium heat until golden brown and cooked through, the burgers should have an internal temperature of 165 degrees F before consuming. Finally, use a meat thermometer if needed.

These juicy burgers also go great with steak fries, potato chips, chips and dip, tortilla chips, or frozen French fries. They can be served with any of your favorite sides!

Leftover turkey burgers can then be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. We like to serve these with extra chipotle sauce or other dipping sauces like ranch, mayo, or guacamole. These will be your new favorite turkey burgers!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs. Ground turkey
  • 2-3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • Fresh cracked black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Chili powder
  • 6 Brioche buns, toasted
  • 12 Slices pepper jack cheese
  • Sliced tomato
  • Lettuce
  • Chipotle aioli, store-bought or homemade

Instructions
 

  • In a large mixing bowl combine the ground turkey and seasonings. Mix well to combine, it is easiest to use your hands.
  • Portion into 6 servings and use your hands to form into patties. Heat a large non-stick sauté pan over medium-high heat*. Gently sear the turkey burgers, 7-8 minutes per side or until they are golden brown*. Top each burger with cheese and allow to melt.
  • Serve on a toasted brioche bun with chipotle aioli, lettuce, and tomato. Leftover burgers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.

Notes

*The burgers can be pan fried or grilled as desired. 
*If patties are browned but not cooked through finish off in the oven or reduce heat, cover, and allow to finish cooking on the stove top. Ground turkey should reach an internal temperature of 165 before consuming.
*If you want to freeze extra turkey burgers, follow recipe instructions and allow to cool completely after cooking. Transfer into an Ziploc bag and freeze for 1 month.
